Our History
More than three decades ago, Nancy Foreman founded this practice with a simple belief: that every person deserves access to high-quality communication therapy. Over the years, she built a team of dedicated therapists and a reputation for compassionate, evidence-based care in the Houston and Galveston communities.
When Sarah Foreman became the new owner, the vision remained the same: to serve families and individuals with the same heart, expertise, and dedication that built this practice from the ground up. But as we looked to the future, we knew it was time for a name that reflected our mission in a broader, more meaningful way.
Why "Milestones Matter"
We chose this name with great care, because every word carries meaning for us.
MILESTONES
In speech-language pathology, milestones are the markers that guide our understanding of development. A child's first word. A teenager finding their voice. An adult relearning to speak after a stroke. These are not just clinical checkpoints; they are life-changing moments. We believe every one of them deserves to be noticed, celebrated, and supported.
MATTER
"Matter" carries a double meaning for us. First, it is a statement of value: these milestones matter. Every achievement, no matter how small it may seem, matters. Second, "matter" connects to the brain itself. Grey matter, white matter. The very substance that makes communication possible. Our work lives at the intersection of neuroscience and human connection, and we are endlessly inspired by the brain's capacity for growth and change through neuroplasticity.
